Duke of Dining Out

If you like burgers…and I’m talking REAL BURGERS here (not those fancy, expensive, gourmet types – but real, big juicy burgers), then you need to check out Redwood City’s Canyon Inn sometime.

The “C.I.” is “time tested” to say the least, having been around for more than 36 years in the city’s Emerald Hills neighborhood…just up the hill from 711 Nevada Street – former home of the NFL’s “Team of The ‘80s!”

Matter of fact in the day Canyon Inn owner Tim Harrison catered the Niners’ weekly press lunches and fed many a starving player (more often than not: “on the house!”).

It’s a family restaurant with a sports and music slant (with historic photos, headlines and posters covering every nook-and-cranny) – cool enough stuff that it would warrant a visit just to check out all the 49ers history and memorabilia, even if those fresh-cooked burgers weren’t as tasty as they are!

So, next time you’re hungry for a good burger (or just need a Niners history fix), you might want to try the cozy little Canyon Inn, “A Redwood City Tradition Since 1973!”
